Saving Money on Catheters

If you struggle with paruresis or need to practice self-catheterization for whatever reason, you probably want to keep several catheters on hand at a time. Over time, this can get expensive, especially if you use multiple catheters in a day. Although it isn’t safe for you to use catheters all the time, some paruretics use them once or twice during public events or other public places.

In order to save on each catheter that you use, there are several approaches that you can take. For one thing, you can use reusable catheters. These can be used many times, and they don’t even have to be sterilized in between uses for the most part. You will spend between $7 and $12 for each reusable catheter that you need.

If you prefer to use disposable catheters, though, there are still ways that you can save money on them, too. Some people will actually use a disposable catheter more than once. While this can save money, it may not be the best option, since this isn’t how these catheters are meant to be used. Instead, you should focus on buying the catheters for as cheaply as possible. Typically, these catheters will cost between $2 and $3 each.

Saving on catheters can easily be done by buying them online. You can easily find the supplies so that you can buy them in bulk, which is a good idea if you plan on using them for a while. You can also price check more easily online, though when you are doing this checking, be sure that you factor in the shipping costs for the catheters so that you get a good idea of what each one will cost. Some sites will run regular specials on supplies like these, so checking around will help.
